I often get asked by people if there is any good live music over the weekend in Des Moines, and there is always someone playing that I can direct music lovers to. Well, this weekend is no different. Actually, it is a bit different because there is one night hosting six bands at one venue for only $15. The 1st Annual Gas Lamp Pumpkin Bash is going down on Saturday night (10/29/11). Shell out 15 bucks to get in the door and that includes all you can drink beer. I feel like that needs to be repeated: ALL YOU CAN DRINK!
The best part of this event is that the bands that are playing are the cream of the crop. It’s no secret that this lineup boasts some of my favorite bands in Des Moines: The Envy Corps, Poison Control Center, Bright Giant, Rebel Creek, The Jitz, and Dick Prall. This show is an 18+ event, and you have to be 21+ to enjoy the free booze. Sorry kiddos, leave your fake ID’s at home.
