The local music scene just keeps getting better and better. Ames will be hosting a four day music extravaganza in September called Maximum Ames which will showcase some of the best local musicians. This crazy event will be held over four days and at various venues around Ames including downtown Ames and Campustown. The lineup is jam packed and sure to make you shake your booty. The best part, the tickets are a steal. I can totally relate to the burden on your pocketbook trying to make it to every show that you want to. That is part of the reason that I love festivals. You get way more bang for your buck and always leave a new fan of a band you may have never have gone to at their own show. For $40 you can get a pass to all four days, or you can go the bargain shopper route and only purchase tickets for a few days. There is so much amazing talent in central Iowa, and this is such a great way to support these bands. Take one night off of drinking or cut out that pack of cigarettes and use that money to buy a ticket to Maximum Ames. It is money far better spent.
